How the trial works
Both Alva Courses plans — Unlimited at $9.99/month and Unlimited Pro at $14.99/month — include a 14-day free trial. During the trial every feature on your chosen plan is unlocked and Shopify charges nothing. If you keep the app past day 14, Shopify starts charging the plan price, and the charge appears on your Shopify bill. While the trial runs, the Alva Courses Home page shows how many trial days you have left.
Trial and cancellation steps
1. Start the 14-day free trial
When you install Alva Courses and approve either the Unlimited or Unlimited Pro plan, Shopify starts a 14-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial and can use every feature on your chosen plan. Alva Courses needs an active plan, so if you open the app without one it takes you to Shopify's plan selection page.
2. Know when the first charge lands
If you keep the app installed past the 14th day, Shopify starts charging the plan price: $9.99/month for Unlimited or $14.99/month for Unlimited Pro. App charges run on their own 30-day cycle and appear on your Shopify bill.
3. Open Settings > Apps in your Shopify admin
To cancel, go to your Shopify admin, click Settings, then click Apps. Find Alva Courses in your installed apps list.
4. Uninstall Alva Courses
Click the three-dot menu next to Alva Courses, choose Uninstall, then click Uninstall again to confirm. Uninstalling cancels the subscription and stops future charges through Shopify, though a charge already on your upcoming Shopify bill can still apply.
What learners see
During the trial, learners watch courses in your storefront exactly as they will after billing begins — nothing on the customer side flags a trial. If you uninstall, learners lose access: Alva Courses deletes your courses, enrolments, learner progress and certificates, along with any videos and files stored with Alva, and reinstalling does not bring them back. Export your members first if you need a record.
