How it works
Every Alva Courses curriculum is a simple hierarchy: a course holds sections, and each section holds lessons. Sections are the chapter headings learners see; lessons are where you add video, text, images, files and quizzes. You arrange both by dragging, so the structure stays flexible as your course grows.
Build the curriculum
1. Open the course builder
In the Shopify admin, open Alva Courses, click Courses, and select the course you want to structure. The builder lists every section and lesson in the course.
2. Add a section
Click + Add section to create a module, then give it a clear name such as "Getting started". Sections group related lessons and become the chapter headings learners see in the storefront player.
3. Add lessons
Inside a section, click Add lesson to create a single lesson, or use Create Multiple to add several empty lessons at once. Name each lesson, then open it to add content blocks.
4. Arrange the order
Drag the grip handle on any lesson or section to reorder it. Lessons play top to bottom, so set the sequence learners should follow, then save your changes.
What learners see
In the storefront course player, your sections appear as a sidebar lesson list grouped under their headings. Learners move through lessons in the order you set, with a progress bar and completion ticks tracking how far they have come.
