Send yourself a test enrolment

Alva Courses enrols a buyer automatically the moment their order is paid. Place a test order in your own store to confirm the whole flow — payment, enrolment, the branded email, and storefront playback — before you sell a single seat.

How it works

Alva Courses listens for paid orders on any product linked to a course. When an order is marked paid, the buyer's email is enrolled instantly, the branded enrolment email goes out, and the course appears in their Shopify customer account. A test order exercises every step.

Test enrolment steps

1. Buy the course product yourself

Open the linked course product in your storefront and complete checkout using a real test email you can access. Apply a 100%-off discount or enable Shopify's Bogus Gateway so no money changes hands.

2. Confirm the order paid

In Shopify Orders, confirm the order is marked Paid. Enrolment fires on payment capture, so a pending or draft order will not enrol the buyer.

3. Check the enrolment in Members

In the Alva Courses admin, open the course's Members Overview. Your test email should appear as an active enrolment with today's enrolment date and a 0% progress bar.

4. Open the enrolment email and start learning

Check the test inbox for the branded enrolment email, click Start Learning Now, sign in to the customer account, and confirm the course opens in the storefront player.

What learners see

A new student receives the enrolment email moments after paying, sees a "Start Learning Now" button, and finds the course under My Courses in their Shopify account — no second login or external platform. The same access also surfaces on the thank-you and order-status pages when those extensions are on.
