How it works
When an order containing a course product is paid, Alva Courses enrols the buyer instantly. The thank-you page extension surfaces a link to start the course on the post-checkout screen, and the order-status page extension keeps that link on the order so buyers can return to it any time. Both run as native Shopify app blocks inside your checkout, with no theme code to edit.
Setup steps
1. Open your checkout settings
In the Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Checkout. Click Customize to open the editor for the Thank-you and Order status pages.
2. Add the thank-you page extension
Open the Thank you page in the editor, click Add app block, and choose the Alva Courses block. Position it where students will see it right after paying.
3. Add the order-status page extension
Switch to the Order status page in the same editor, add the Alva Courses app block, and place it so returning buyers can reach their courses from the order later.
4. Save and publish
Click Save to publish both blocks. The extensions go live on your live checkout immediately — no app re-install needed.
5. Test with a real order
Place a test order for a course product and pay. On the thank-you page, confirm the Alva Courses block shows a link to start the course straight away.
What learners see
As soon as the order is paid, the thank-you page shows an Alva Courses block inviting the student to begin their course in one click. The same block stays on the order-status page, so anyone who closes the tab can come back to the order and pick up where they left off — alongside the branded enrolment email and "My Courses" in their account.
